"As a home schooling mom, I am always looking for creative resources to supplement our curriculum and by far this has been one of the best DVD’s to teach music concepts to young children. The Tuneables™ “I Love Music” is an instructional series designed to teach music to young children (ages 3-8) …In my opinion this curriculum is invaluable in teaching young children at an early age to appreciate music. As a parent, I have wanted to expose them to music theory but was not sure how to do this at their young ages. The Tuneables™ is the perfect solution because it is engaging, interactive and really captures their attention. With bright animation, fun characters and wonderful music and songs, this DVD is a hit with all three of my children. The accompanying parents guide is also very helpful and gives me an overview of the DVD as well as additional ideas for further activities to practice the music lessons."Baby Gear Today: The Tuneables
"Learning Musical skills has never been easier thanks to a new animated series called The Tuneables! A 30 minute video sponsored by the Music Intelligence Project, takes a unique approach to music education. The animation is awesome- these super cute “Tuneable” characters introduce your child to a wonderful world of music and fun in Tuneville!! …What I really enjoyed about this DVD is that it isn’t just a watch and see DVD, it gets them up and moving- clapping, marching, dancing- moving to the rhythms.""The Tuneables is one way to get the youngest of children in tune with music and on the path to musical discovery. It was so incredibly cute and gave kids room to explore, imagine, and discover on their own, right along with the video. Sponsored by The Music Intelligence Project, The Tuneables is a fantastic way to get started."
Parents Choice Gold Award: The Tuneables
"Using colorful, eye-catching animation, this well-designed, activity-packed program introduces young children to some of the fundamentals of music. In the land of Tuneville, a team of quirky Tuneables (Clara the clarinet, Sunny the cymbal, Snare the drum, Mo the Violin, Gloria the piano) invites viewers to play and sing along as they playfully demonstrate tonal and rhythmic patterns and the basics of vocalizing. The frankly curricular approach, created by music educators, presents these concepts with appealing age-appropriate clarity, while the vivid animation, interspersed with footage of real kids joining in, has notable visual appeal.""To be honest, I learned some things myself. hehee! The characters really draw you in and make you want to learn more about music and that’s the amazing thing about this DVD series. Children learn age-appropriate, carefully sequenced curriculum. Oh, and don’t worry if you aren’t a music scholar. The DVD’s include tips for parents that are designed to help extend the music learning into your home. I highly recommend The Tuneables DVD series for those of you with children aged 3+. The objectives align with the K-12 National Standards for quality music education programs so even if your children are older, they can still learn the fundamentals and have a great time doing it too."
Tiaras and Tantrums: The Tuneables
"Sadly, The school my children have been attending up to last year did not offer Music as a normal class period. It was offered after school as an enrichment course. Up to this point, my children have not had a formal Music class. Last January, my daughter began homeschool with me and the coop she attended had a Music class. For the first time my daughter was exposed to Music and she LOVED it. I did not know what curriculum I was going to use for Music this year for all my children as I was still undecided. I was contacted to review The Tuneables and I know fate had stepped into my home. I will be using The Tuneables for our Music curriculum this school year and all my children will benefit as they fit the age range for this DVD/CD."Diaries of a Domestic Goddess: The Tuneables
"The Tuneables promises a fun and interactive way to learn music and the deliver! My daughter watched this today when she got home from school and she couldn’t take her eyes from the television. Normally when she has a movie or show on T.V. she will be playing and looking up at the television every so often. Not today! She sat completely still for the entire show. I cannot wait to show this to Zachary. I know, without a doubt in my mind, that he will enjoy it."Cherry Blossoms: The Tuneables
"Tuneables immediately engaged my four year old daughter from the moment I turned it on. The Tuneables has the audience fully participate by hearing, doing, and naming which builds on aural perception, kinesthetic response, and verbal association. My daughters favorite song was 'Love Somebody' which focuses on tonal pattern; Do-Mi-Sol and moving to the beat. The actions she has to perform are; singing along, finding tonal patterns in the song, and lap pat to the beat. The CD that is included along with the DVD is great for car trips."Babas Farm Life: The Tuneables
"It is a music curriculum for pre-school that you can use in your home,pre-school or home-school program. So inventive! Mom is adding this wonderful music curriculum to their home-school and is setting aside time for music in their lesson plans. An excellent addition to a Kindergarten class or Day Care program for young children,Pre-school,or home-school program! I highly recommend The Tuneables for teaching children about music!"" Children are drawn in by the delightful Tuneables characters that live in Tuneville. Each character actually resembles a musical instrument, and each has a distinct personality. Typical musical CDs and DVDs encourage children to sing, dance, or passively listen. However, The Tuneables are very different. This musical collection actually helps children to learn musical fundamentals. The Tuneables characters help children to hear and sing tonal patterns, build aural perception, kinesthetic response, and verbal association."
"The characters were fun, the songs were age appropriate and it was educational. Music is enjoyable for our entire family, and this DVD/CD proved to be entertaining for Zoe…The Tuneables is for ages 3-8 and will definitely encourage your child to engage in the activities shown. You may find your child singing throughout the DVD and CD, listening closely and copying what is being taught. If you are a parent you may download free companion guides that provide in-depth information about how to expand the musical experiences on the DVD and your child’s learning."
Sweeties Reviews: The Tuneables
"I was really impressed with this set and think kids ages 3 to 8 will really enjoy it and learn a lot. I still remember when I was in 5th grade and an orchestra came to our school and taught us to listen to the different instruments within the musical piece and showed us how those instruments actually told a story. They painted a picture in my mind that has stayed with me all of these years. I think music is so important for children, for personal expression, enjoyment, and it nurtures our soul to lift our spirits. I was immediately impressed when I watched the Tuneables DVD and the music was a joy to listen to."Learning a Latte: The Tuneables
"I was thrilled...THRILLED!!!! to discover The Tuneables. This DVD/CD collection is sponsored by The Music Intelligence Project, and offers a unique approach to music education. As you probably have experienced, many musical DVDs/CDs encourage kids to sing and dance along, or (at worst) expect them to passively listen. But The Tuneables really engages the kids and requires them to focus and actively participate while they learn music skills……In plain English? Your kids will hear the music/tonal pattern/rhythm on the DVD. Then they will sing/tap the rhythm/march. And finally they'll learn the names of some of the musical tones and instruments. It really works! I've tried to teach rhythm to my son before (and like I said, I have no musical background), but we didn't get anywhere. After watching The Tuneables a few times, he's able to tap along in rhythm to the songs."One Frugal Lady: The Tuneables
"My daughter loves The Tuneables set! She has watched the DVD several times, and just after one time, she was singing "Do, Mi, Sol..." Love this! This is a fun, easy and exciting way to incorporate music into your child's life. They will learn the basics of music through activities and participation!"Real Moms Real Views: The Tuneables
"From the first scene in this adorable DVD, Ava was hooked! When the music started she started tapping her knees, head, and toes and trying to sing along with the songs. It was so sweet watching her keep the beat during the rhythm section and even cuter listening to her sing during the singing voice section! As soon as it was over she asked to watch it again, It was a hit! The Music Box CD has become a must listen on the way to and from school! It is great reinforcement for all of the skills taught in the “I Love Music” DVD, and includes a few songs from the DVD as well as several well known children’s songs. My kids are always asking me to play “I Love Music” in the car, and I am happy to play it and find myself singing along with them!"A Time Out For Mommy: The Tuneables
"My little girl started singing along with the Tuneables and even tries to interact with the characters by tapping her knees when they tell her to and by repeating music notes….The Tuneables has become part of our night time routine of movie with dinner, (I have a VERY picky eater and this works for us) brush teeth and then lights out! With all the music programs around our neighborhood schools being cut, it is nice to see programs coming out that will engage children and foster their musical abilities."
